Methodology

In my courses, I use a flexible methodology adapted to the needs of my students and design and use teaching materials where communication plays an important role. “The Common European Framework recommends methodologies that improve communication, education and real life experiences. Also, students learn French in the same way as they did with their mother tongue, using a communicative approach, focusing on active learning.
I take into account multiple intelligences and different learning styles by using ICT as one of the main tools of the learning and teaching process. The real objective of learning a language is to be able to communicate. So, I encourage students to practice in class as much as possible. Indeed, as Bandura states, “the learner does not learn in isolation; instead, learning is strongly influenced by social interactions, which take place in meaningful contexts. ” As a trainer, I consider that my role is to guide the learners in the learning process. I give special priority to oral communication over written communication. In my lessons, vocabulary, phonetics / pronunciation / and grammar are learned in context in specific situations.
Krashen suggests that "through exposure to the language and meaningful communication, a foreign language is acquired without the need for systematic study of any kind." Thus grammar is taught whenever possible inductively and in context in specific situations.
This consists in letting the pupils discover for themselves the grammatical rule by observing and inducing significant examples. The inductive approach is a teaching method "from the implicit to the explicit". However, I do not exclude systematic exercises if this proves necessary. It is important that the learner focuses more on communication, on fluency than on precision, because mistakes are part of the learning process.
After the oral or written production, the learner receives feedback from me so that they can progress. I include in my feedback the positive and negative aspects noticed in the learner's work, however, I make sure to encourage the learners by emphasizing their strengths to keep them motivated.

Tailor-made language immersion stay combining tailor-made French lessons and a program of social, sporting and cultural activities.

New Aquitaine (the French Basque country) with its culture, its history, its breathtaking landscapes offers a lot to see and do.

Follow in the footsteps of your French teacher and discover our way of life and our culture.

On the program: hiking along the sea, in the mountains, discovering castles, visiting small villages, canoeing, shopping at the market, coffee break on the terrace in a medieval village, wine tasting, walk by bike...

You will continuously improve your French language skills while discovering French culture.

Because I prefer the teaching of the French language to private lessons or small groups (maximum 4 people), you will benefit from a tailor-made immersion program whose learning objectives and socio-cultural activities will be defined according to your interests or those of the small group.
